“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”- Howard Thurman

At a time in our lives when so many of us are at a crossroads, who we are and who we aspire to be often becomes blurred. The gap between what one actually needs to survive in the real world, and what we perceive we need, is often more of a crater. When it comes to women, we tend to place all of our hopes and dreams on a condition of thinness. I am by no means exempting myself from this category: I have lost far too much of my life to a mindset that wreaked havoc on my body and my soul. That is time I will never regain, and I mourn those moments lost every day. Today, the word “healthy” has become all-too synonymous with the word “thin.” Being successful is as much a state of mind as it is a tangible concept. Therefore, mixed in with the articles on “How-To make a grilled cheese with an iron” and “Ways to make things with no skills,” will be messages of how to be beautiful on the outside without sacrificing your health, happiness, and pursuit of all things fabulous!
