Tip of the Day: Acetone, not just for huffers…

March 14, 2010

This one is for those of you who choose to don acrylic nails. Whether you get them for a special event, or you sport them 365 days a year, at some point you will have to remove them. You could bite them off or spend an hour sitting in a salon being professionally de-nailed, or you could try this…

Soak ten cotton balls or rounds in acetone. Oh, and open a window. Then, make ten small squares of tinfoil (or big if you have banana hands). Put one acetone ball on top of each nail, and wrap the tinfoil square around your finger to keep it in place. Leave on for thirty minutes, and try not to inhale deeply. When you remove the tinfoil, your fake nails should peel right off!
